I believe the Holy Spirit has been neglected, misrepresented, misunderstood and abused.

The Holy Spirit (third person of the triune God) has many names and functions but I believe Paraclete describes Him the best.  Paraclete comes from the Koine Greek word παράκλητος (paráklētos). A combination of "para" (beside/alongside) and "kalein" (to call).

It appears in the Gospel of John where it may be translated into English as "counselor", "helper", “advocate”, or “comforter".

When Jesus promised in John chapter 16 that the Comforter will come “alongside” us, He meant that the Holy Spirit would help us in our time of need.  

The Holy Spirit is God’s agent who convicts humankind of sin and their need of a Savior and of repentance.  He empowers and equips God’s people for the task of witnessing.  He leads and guides us to recognize the truth of His word and brings honor and glory to Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit inspired biblical writers to record God’s revelation as penned in the canon of scripture - the Bible.

If you are lost and stumbling, He will guide you!  If you are discouraged, He will lift you up!  If you are grieving, He will sustain you with His presence.  He will be there when you need Him most - call on Him!
