    Thankful

    November 21, 2020

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!  For His mercy endures forever.” (1 Chronicles 16: 34)

I am thankful for the precious gift of life!  I am thankful for my: parents; siblings; grandparents; wife; children; in-laws; grandchildren; family and friends; brothers and sisters in Christ.

I am thankful for work, ministry and to live in America.  I am thankful for the necessities of life: air; sunshine; water; food; shelter; clothing.

I could go into all the details of the “why” I am thankful for all the above, but due to length of article and so not to bore you, I will refrain from doing so.   In this year of “Debbie downers” and negativity it is good to reflect on what we are thankful for.

I am thankful for christian influence, present and past- for His church!

I am thankful for God’s love, grace and mercy - I don’t deserve any of it!

I am thankful for God’s word, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

What I am most thankful for is the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ!

Jesus said, “ I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.  And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.  Do you believe this?” - John 11: 25-26

Yes, I do!  So you see, I have a lot to be thankful for!

Because of Jesus’ promise, the relationships that I have on earth will continue on right into eternity - if they believe too!

What are you thankful for?  Do you believe?!

Romans 10: 9 promises “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved!”

I am thankful for the enduring, eternal truth of God’s word!

    In Christ Alone,

    Pastor Rodney
