Let the LORD establish His Word

    April 24, 2024

“Let the LORD establish His Word”

“In the beginning God said…”  God’s spoken word established the created order and spoke mankind into existence - “…the LORD God…breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…”   Everything is established and held by God’s word!  God vowed by His Word to never again to destroy the world by water.  God has vowed by His Word that “whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved!”  God said it and that settles it - “thus says the LORD!”  The bible says, “…by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established” (2 Cor.13:1).

God backs up His Word with His Word and by His word - “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away”

    (Matt.24:35).

Vows are important.  Vow defined as “promise to do a specified thing.”

Wedding vows are made “till death do we part.”  Presidential candidates might make vow “to lower taxes.”  To vow is the act of making.  Some vows are kept, some are broken.  Some vows made are within our control to keep and some are not (God always keeps His vow).  Hannah in the old testament is a great example of a vow made and kept. She made a vow according to 1 Samuel 11 and said, “O LORD of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life.”  In short, everything we have comes from God, your family, your home, your ministry, your job, your income, your talents, your passions, your time - we are just stewards of what He has entrusted to us.  Have you vowed to “Let the LORD establish His Word” in all that He has entrusted to you?!  It’s not easy.  It takes balancing your responsibilities.  It takes some sacrifice and following through but well worth it!  I encourage you by the grace of our Lord to “Let the LORD establish His Word” in your life.  May we pray, “Lord, I set aside all that I am and have for your purposes.  May you establish Your word in Me, fully and wholly”, in Jesus Name, Amen.
