If you have listened to the news or the Presidential debates, you have heard the challenge to “make America great again!”   I guess my concern would be - by what standard?  By the world’s standard or by God’s standard?   Jesus said, “render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” (Matthew 22:21)  The problem currently with our Country is that man’s standard is “trumping” (no pun intended) God’s standard for faith and practice.  That is why we are in the mess that we are currently in.   We have got to get to the place where God’s standard “trumps” man’s standard.  God’s standard is still His Word - the Bible as contained within the whole canon of scripture - Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22: 21.  From “In the beginning God created” to “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”  

Church, if we ever hope of our Country becoming “Great Again”, we as Christ followers must get back to God’s standard for faith and practice ourselves.  No longer can we be “lukewarm” and “compromising.”  We need to get “Back to the blessed old Bible” as D.O. Teasley penned in that great hymn.  We need the whole counsel of God’s word - the whole truth as found in scripture.  As the Apostle Paul penned, “Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.  Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2: 14-15)

Yes, let’s make America Great again - “Nevertheless, the solid foundation of God stands!” (2 Timothy 2: 19)
