For some reason I thought as I got older that life would somehow be easier, less complicated - boy was I wrong! Please don’t misunderstand me, I am blessed, in fact, if you live in America you are blessed is so many ways. That being said, life can become wearisome, troublesome, burdensome and anxiety can set in due in part to a variety of things, so many things that are out of our control like: health issues; aging family and friends; loss of loved ones; loss of job; inflation; rapid moral decay of our culture; instability of our Gov’t, Nation and world to just name a few. Yes, life can be hard, but God is good! Our circumstances are every changing, but our God is unchanging, stable and true! Yes, as Paul expressed in second Corinthians, sometimes “we are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair…” - why? Because of Jesus. Jesus said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (cf. 2 Cor. 5:8; 12:9) Our God reminds you and me “I can to all things through Christ who strengthens me!’ Yes, you will get through this burden you are bearing. Yes, you will get through this difficulty you are facing, because “you are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world!” (1 John 4: 4)
That great hymn, ‘Let Me see Jesus only’ by W. Dale Oldham applies, “Storms in fury beat around me, tempests oft my heart assail, but my Pilot’s name is JESUS, He will calm the wildest gale. Let me see Jesus only, Jesus only, Jesus only, let me see Jesus only, only He can satisfy.”
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generation, forever and ever. Amen.”
(Ephesians 3: 20-21)
The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ makes all the difference!
Let me see JESUS only!
