Jehovah Nissi - the LORD is my banner, mighty warrior, victory!

Have you heard the saying, “If there is one thing we learn from the scriptures, it’s that we never place a period where God has placed a comma.”  This saying is meant to help us move forward.  The challenge is discerning God’s will in our life.  Life has a way of putting up many walls in our life that seem to be a period, or end of story.  Walls might come in the form of sickness, addiction, divorce, loss, tragedy, age, unmet expectations, unfulfilled dreams or hopes - to name a few.  We become tired and the task to move forward seems impossible or hopeless.  We start wondering if God is sovereign (all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present) and loving, then why am I encountering this wall?  I certainly don’t have all the answers, but one thing I do know is that the God of Adam and Eve, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Esther, Job, Ruth, Daniel, Lazarus (to name a few) is also the God of you and me!  We can read the rest of their story to encourage us.  In each example they came up against an impossible and hopeless situation.  In each example God turned a wall into a testimony!  “Greater is He who is within you then he who is in the world’; ‘If God is for me, who can be against me”;  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”; “No weapon formed against me shall prosper!”  This is not positive thinking, this is the truth of our God and His word.

God is faithful to see you forward.  Keep your eyes on the author and finisher of your faith and your walls, like Jericho - will come tumbling down (cf. Joshua 6).  Remember to focus on Him, not the wall!

When you face insurmountable obstacles - trust in God’s deliverance (Jehovah Mephalti - the LORD my deliverer), because God can remove any obstacle no matter how big and give you the victory!
