For Such a Time as This

    May 9, 2017

As we take time to recognize, honor and say “THANK YOU”  to our Mother’s, let us  also remember that this day is not meant to exclude or distance anyone, but to recognize the importance of relationships!  From the very beginning of relationships, from the book of beginnings, (Genesis) God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to  Our likeness…so God created man in his own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them….And the LORD God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” (cf. Genesis 1:26-2:24)   Women are critical to the health and future of our families, our culture and God’s church.  Without women mankind would eventually cease to exist!  Not only Mother’s, but the female gender is meant to bring stability to the home.  When my grandchildren aren’t feeling good they generally desire the help and comfort from the female in the house.  All through the bible we read the significance the role of the woman played.  They generally were the first to show up and the last to leave. God has given woman a uniqueness, none like any of His creation.  Charles Swindoll said that, “God has given women at least four qualities that impact our lives: special intuition; an endurance to pain; a unique responsiveness; the quality of vulnerability.” - I would agree.  Ladies, we need you as never before, as we approach these “last days” to be the woman God has called you to be.  Like Esther, “who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (cf. 4: 14)  Never underestimate your importance to the family, culture and God’s church!  And never underestimate the power of one (Christ in you) - “I am only one, But still I am one.  I cannot do everything; but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” - Edward E. Hale

God’s continued blessings upon you ladies, and - “Happy Mother’s Day!”

    In His Service,

    Pastor Rodney
