    Don't be a "has not!"

    October 12, 2017

I believe we are in the last days, and in the beginning of what Jesus referred to in Matthew 24 as the, “beginning of sorrows.”   Just watch the news, its pretty obvious.  But what we are becoming desensitized to I believe, is where 2 Timothy 3 refers to as the last days being “perilous times” due to: “men being lovers of themselves, lovers of money..proud…disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving…having a form of godliness but denying its power…always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”   This all stems from what the bible calls an “unrepentant heart,” and this term applies just as much to you and me as believers, as it does to non-believers!  I have to examine “myself,” - am I one of those that just has a “form of godliness” or have I experienced a true heart change?   I have to ask myself, am I a “has not?”  Let me explain that question with this text in Zephaniah 3, “she has not obeyed His voice, she has not received correction; she has not trusted in the LORD, she has not drawn near to her God.”  This applies to ALL of God’s people!   If, I’m obeying Jesus’ voice, if I’m receiving the correction of His word and Holy Spirit, if I’m trusting in Him and drawing near to Him,..then why “_______________?”,  I will let you fill in the blank.

Dear Jesus, I don’t want to be a “has not!”

    In His Service,

    Pastor Rodney
