    Born to YOU!

    December 9, 2016

“For there is born to (YOU) this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2: 11)  There is nothing like new life coming forth!  I can still remember when my children were born.   Becky and I had such anticipation for their arrival (plus labor pains for Becky)!  When they came forth into our world, they brought such joy and pride! - “Oh, they are our very own children!”  Although our children are unique, they still reflect Becky and I in looks and personality.  Not only did they bring joy and pride to us as parents, but also to our parents and family!  Then our children had children!  Oh the anticipation!  Oh the joy and pride they have brought too!  And they look just like me - just ask me (grandparent pride)!   Do we, do I, have the same excitement about the Savior that was born?!  We all know the Christmas story, but do we really take it (Him) as our very own?!  Jesus was born to be “YOUR” Savior!  He came to “deliver” you of your sin.  Christ, God’s anointed one, was sent to save you.  He not only came to delivery you and save you but to be your Lord.  Meaning, He has supremacy (power and authority) over everything.  That is good news!  That means He not only can deliver you from the penalty and power of sin, but He can deliver you of…__________(fill in the blank).  God the Father desires you to experience the joy only His Son can bring!   He desires you to fully embrace His purpose for coming - for “YOU!”

“For there is born to (YOU) this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2: 11)
