“For there is born to (YOU) this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2: 11) There is nothing like new life coming forth! I can still remember when my children were born. Becky and I had such anticipation for their arrival (plus labor pains for Becky)! When they...

“The Glory of the Lord shone around them…” (Luke 2: 9b)
How does one even start to explain or comprehend the Glory of God?! Yes, we can read of the glory of God from Genesis to Revelation. From God’s glory in the beginning illuminating the earth (His Shekinah Glory - “dwelling or settling of the divine presence of God”),… to God walking with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day,… to God descending upon Mount Sinai,… to God filling...

One by one, I anticipated and waited for their arrival - my parents, my sister, my son, my daughter and son-in-law, my three grandchildren, my brother and sister-in-law. We were going to be together today to enjoy a meal together and more importantly - each others presence. These individuals (and others, that couldn’t be with us this day) not only came and occupied space in my home, but they...

Good Morning, afternoon or evening! This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and “Be” glad in it! I am “Thankful” that God is Sovereign. We serve a God that neither slumbers nor sleeps - He knows our lying down, our rising up and all in between - He is in control! God has said in His word, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8: 22)
Hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is next week and the start of the Advent season to follow. The Holidays can be hard for people though. Depression can...

It is said that you can survive 3-5 minutes without air, 10 days without water, 40 days without food, but - no one can survive without “Hope!” I hope the colts win the supper bowl; I hope our economy turns around; I hope terrorism is defeated; I hope America repents and turns back to the God of the Bible; I hope my children and grandchildren live in a safe and prosperous America; I hope….. But is this hope? Is hope a “I hope so?” or “I know so!” Yes, we should continue to...

“…America must win this war…I will fight as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone.” - From Martin Treptow’s Journal
Martin Treptow, who went to France in 1917 with the Rainbow Division did not make it out of France alive (killed while trying to carry a message), but his journal survived, and his words continue to inspire us. President Ronald Regan shared this “Warriors Pledge” in his Patriotic speech in 1981. He was a President of character, integrity and faith. A President who...

Anxious; worried; fearful; stressed; perplexed; depressed; undecided; “how did we get here?!”, might be some descriptive words or thoughts for this upcoming Presidential Election, November 8th, 2016.
According to George Barna, Americans are increasingly growing weary of Government and becoming hopeless about the state of the Nation and its future. Where is God in all of this? Is God even concerned or involved in who will be our next President? I would say,...

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the changing of natures colors and the cooler temperatures. I am reminded too with the changing of the seasons, God’s promise in Genesis 8: 22, “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.” Some prophesy “experts” are predicting Jesus’ return this October 31st. Although Jesus made it clear that no man will know the day and hour of His coming (cf. Matt. 24: 36), He did say we could discern the times, or season of His coming - I believe we are there. I do not believe prophesy was given so that we could have all the details figured out, but to exhort us to...

If you have listened to the news or the Presidential debates, you have heard the challenge to “make America great again!” I guess my concern would be - by what standard? By the world’s standard or by God’s standard? Jesus said, “render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” (Matthew 22:21) The problem currently with our Country is that...

Our Presidential Candidates promise to lead our Nation to a preferred future, if elected. They promise more jobs, less crime. They promise to secure our borders and to defeat Isis. They promise equality for all and promise to make America great again. The Candidates have various experience. They are both wealthy and powerful. But what about character? The Heart of the matter is character, whether you are...
