The Bible says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)   No one in their right mind would deliberately choose death.  But God says that is exactly what you do when you reject Jesus Christ and His Word.  God’s way leads to life and  everlasting life.   Man’s way lead to death and everlasting death.  We are eternal beings with a soul that is going to last forever.   I believe our greatest need today (world and the church) is a healthy fear of God and a mind that is fixed on eternity.  A true acceptance of Christ as Savior will lead to repentance - a changed life.  That is why Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die.” - meaning death to the old self (sin nature) and alive to the new nature (born again).  To accept Christ as Savior means to recognize Him as Lord - meaning He now has reign and rule of your life.  God has given each one of us, “The choice of Life or Death”  - choose Christ and live!  And, “…cling to Him, for He is your life!”  (cf. Deuteronomy 30:20)  Only Jesus will bring true happiness!
