    Hope for the Hopelss

    November 30, 2018

“Advent” - the coming of Christ.  This is a past, present and future reality!  Past - Jesus came in the flesh.  Present - Jesus can dwell in you, via the Holy Spirit.  Future - Jesus is physically coming again at the end of time as we know it.  Jesus told us there would be signs of His coming again and the end of the age.  He told us that many of the things we are now experiencing are only “the beginning of sorrows.” (cf. Matthew 24)   You may find yourself currently in a good place in life.  You may currently be in a tough time right now or somewhere in between.  But the reality is that all of mankind is in a hopeless situation without Christ.  Jesus came to bring hope to the hopeless.  The Gospel is indeed good news!  The bible says that God is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  The bible says that Jesus came to save us from our sins - mankind’s greatest need.  “…and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” (cf. Matthew 1:21)

Without the forgiveness of your sins you are in a hopeless state.  Jesus brought hope - hope for today, tomorrow and beyond the grave.

The bible says that nature itself is yearning for Christ’s return (cf. Romans 8: 18-22) when He will make ALL things new!

In Christ alone my hope is found!

    Maranatha - “Come, Lord!”

    In His Service,

    Pastor Rodney
