  • Portrait of Jesus Christ - His ‘Love for YOU!’   John 3:16

    I love these lyrics written by Kurt Kaiser. I learnt these as a youth in church…

    “Oh, how He loves you and me.

    Oh, how He loves you and me.

    He gave His life, what more could He give;

    Oh, how He loves you.

    Oh, how He loves me.

    Oh, how He loves you and me!”

    We write songs about love.  We write books about love.  We talk about love.  We teach and preach on love, but love is a verb, an action word.  Not based on feeling or emotion, but an act of the will on behalf of God and others.  No one demonstrated that more than Jesus Christ.  The portrait of Jesus is best exemplified in His love for you and me.  The bible in its totality is God’s love letter to mankind.  No other verse sums up God’s love for mankind better than

    John 3: 16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

    God has loved you perfectly through His Son, Jesus.  Our world is in a mess.  So much hatred and disunity.  Why can’t we agreeably disagree and still show love for one another?  In reality, man without Christ is not capable to love the way God intended.  Man has shown he is capable of the most hideous acts of violence apart from Christ. What the world needs is their realization of their desperate need for Jesus Christ!  Only Jesus Christ can save us from ourselves.  John 3:17 reminds that “…God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

    I am praying for a revival in our land and in our world.  Praying for the mighty move of the Holy Spirit upon the hearts and minds of people to see their need for Jesus Christ in their lives!  God help us to love well.  God help us to see this beautiful portrait of Christ’s love for mankind.

    Merry CHRISTmas!  Jesus loves YOU!  Jesus loves even me!  God help us to love Jesus by loving others and pointing them to our wonderful Savior - Jesus Christ!
